My Favorite Birthday

My 42nd birthday was my favorite so far. And here’s proof that on this Earth, although things are not perfect, they are glorious:

The children went all out making cards for me, making gifts for me, and giving to me some of their precious treasures. It was simple, but absolutely wonderful! My heart was overwhelmed with thankfulness for my lovely and generous family. They really made me feel special. Here are a few of my favorite moments — not necessarily flattering, but favorite!

If you notice, the card says, “Happy 44th Birthday!” We all got a great belly laugh out of that!

There are benefits to having a birthday right after Christmas.

Oh my! This daughter of mine wrote such precious words to me! I am humbled to think she could really see me as she described.
